Frankie Greco is a Los Angeles based, conceptual abstract painter, with a BFA from California State University of Long Beach.
Music informs his abstract paintings. Just like a synesthete, he sees sound with shapes and colors, and attempts to answer, “What does music look like?” In today’s climate, he also listens to the drums of society; the social issues that systemically shape our communities. His works reflect that.
In his process, he listens to music. Similar to a jazz musician’s improvisation, he paints in real time to lay down the composition, then he completes his paintings using trial and error. Frankie invents people and symbols that lend to the language.
Frankie creates high art. He can identify himself through his paintings while also intending them to be fun.
